Solar Schools, Universities and Educational facilities
The GreenPower company have undertaken numerous solar power systems on schools and educational facilities, which incorporate easy to use informative solar monitoring systems, which can be integrated into science classes for educational purposes. The reduction in carbon dioxide emissions as a result of installed renewable energy systems can also be highlighted, comparing clean energy generation with facility demands and overall consumption patterns.
A solar power system for schooling facilities has three major purposes;

When installing a solar power system on schools and educational facilities, we place an emphasis on safety and are conscious of appropriate scheduling to avoid disturbance to classes. We also offer training to inform relevant teachers and staff on how to monitor the performance of the solar power system, for educational purposes and performance monitoring.

Rolling Hills Primary School – 10kW Solar installation
One of our first solar primary schools, Rolling Hills Primary School installed a 10kWp Canadian Solar Power System on their main building. We also upgraded all lighting to efficient LED’s, creating a situation where the solar power system would generate the average power requirements for daytime
Lyndale Secondary College – 20kWp Solar Installation
Our first Secondary College installation, Lyndale Secondary College took advantage of the solar rebates and installed a 1o.0kWp Canadian Solar Power System, with appropriate web box monitoring for educational and monitoring purposes. The installation was undertaken in conjunction with a lighting upgrade for an intensive upgrade in overall energy efficiency, not only to lower electricity overheads, but to provide and example for the students and parents of Lyndale Secondary College, about direct action in regard to installed technologies to reduce the impacts of climate change and atmospheric pollution.
Glover St Kindergarten – 5kWp Solar PV System
Glover St Kindergarten in Bentleigh East were concerned about their ongoing electricity overheads, so opted to install a 5kWp solar PV system to cater for their average daytime electricity usage. Green Power designed and installed 20 x Candian Solar 250W poly crystalline panels, coupled with 20 x Enphase M215 micro inverters, to minimise shading issues caused by the surrounding mature treescape. The solar panels were installed on 30 degree tilt frames on 2 different roof faces. The operators of the kindergarten have been very happy with the results, and it is great for the children and parents to know that their education facility is helping mitigate the effects of fossil fuel powered electricity production as well as reducing operating costs. The installed system will pay for itself with 4-5 years, and the quality installed equipment has been designed and manufactured to last 25+ years. Another great investment for the progressive, fiscally and environmentally aware kindergarten operators.
