Red Circle Solar Closed Couple, Low Temperature Hot Water Systems
Red Circle Solar offer a roof mounted, low pressure, closed couple, instantaneous heat exchange, hot water system. The Hot Water System has low pressure open- vented stainless steel storage tank with optional 2.4KW electric element and is coupled with high efficiency evacuated tubes which use thermosiphon to transfer heat to the storage tank. The Red Circle evacuated tubes are designed to be full of water and heated water is stored in a stainless steel insulated storage tank, using a triple silicon O- ring. Heat from the sun heats the water in the tubes directly then thermosyphons into the storage tank, where pump or controllers are not required.
This system is extremely efficient and durable, and is used widely in off grid homes.
Low Pressure Hot Water Systems
Red Circle Solar low pressure storage tanks eliminates the issue of a PTR valve dumping heat from the tank once it reaches 100℃. Excess energy is vented out to the atmosphere, reducing internal pressures on the system and prolonging life duration.
Wood Fired Wet Back/Boiler
The close coupled Red Circle Solar Hot Water System can be connected to a wood boiler or wet back system for hot water boosting. The storage tank of the red circle solar hot water system has to be open to the atmosphere if it has to be connected to any wood boiler due to a wood fire being an unregulated heat source. The Red Circle close coupled hot water system has built in flow and return ports in the storage tank so that a wood fire could be directly connected without the use of an external heat exchanger.
Heat rises via thermosyphone from the wetback or water sleeve, without the need for a circulation pump. The system is simple, efficient and durable.
Why instantaneous gas boosting system are not as efficient as closed couple systems.
Gas boosters are situated between the storage tank and the water feed and are factory set at 70℃ to kill Legionella. The hot water is then tempered down to 50℃ for safe domestic and commercial consumption. This is a waste of energy if you compare it to a closed couple low pressure system, using heat exchange technology. The Red Circle System does not store potable water and therefore does not require water temperature boosting to kill Legionella. This makes it extremely efficient in comparison to instantaneous gas boosting systems or high pressure storage tank systems.
Solar Evacuated Tube
The red circle solar evacuated tube that that < (remove) absorbs sunlight energy in the form of UV rays and converts it into thermal energy conduction. Red circle solar evacuated tubes are composed of high boron- silicon glass that is over 93% efficient in capturing the suns heat. The tubes internal layer of glass has three coatings which help in heat absorption and transfer, the external layer of glass is clear to let heat pass through it. Red circle evacuated solar tube has a vacuum insulation layer that ensures heat entering the evacuated tube does not escape.
The Red Circle Solar system uses wet or flooded evacuated tube system where the tube is full of water and the suns heat is directly transferred to the water in the tube before the heat is then thermosyphoned into a stainless steel storage tank.
No Legionella Risk
Legionella causes illness such as legionnaire’s disease and grows best in warm water.
The Red Circle Close Coupled system is used as a heat bank to heat up water with the cold supply running through a 30 metre copper coil submerged inside the storage tank. The heat is transferred from the water inside the storage tank to the copper coil then it is tempered down a safe 55℃ needed for domestic and commercial use. The red circle solar low pressure roof mounted close coupled system do not store water that are used for domestic use so there is no risk of legionella entering your water supply.
Low Pressure Stainless Steel Tank with a High Pressure Heat Exchange Coil
The Red Circle Solar roof mounted low pressure storage tank can be connected to a wood fire booster via thermosyphon. When hot water is needed, cold water enters the submerged 30mtr x 14 mm copper heat exchange coil that runs through the centre of the tank where it extracts heat from the stored water inside the storage tank and then is reduced to 50℃ via a mixing valve.
