Victron Phoenix & Narada GEL – backup for sump pump
The customer required backup power for the his sump pump located in his basement, for when mains grid power is shut down.
During big storms when flooding is prone to occur, mains grid power is susceptible to disruption, and backup power (UPS) for the sump pump is essential to ensure the pump continues to operate.
The system pictured, utilises a Victron Energy 48/3000 inverter and Narada GEL 12V 150AH batteries, connected in series for 48V integration.
The water pumps have a constant draw of 2000W, with a peak ramp of 5000W, which can be handled be the Victron Phoenix 24/3000 inverter. The batteries are programed at 80% depth of discharge, and are set to activate during emergencies only, a total of 5760W.
So this system will provide 1.5 hours a constant backup pumping at full load.
