Case Study, 30kWp Solar Power System, Sydney – HR Product
The Green Power Company supplied, designed and installed this 30kWp Solar Power System on their factory in Sydney. This is the second commercial solar installation we have undertaken for HR Products, with the first one, a 30kWp solar power system on their factory in Dandenong Victoria.
The medium sized commercial solar power system used 120 x Phono Solar 250W poly crystalline panels, installed on a tilt frame on a 30 degree pitch. Phono Solar are a tier 1 panel, owned and operated by Sinomach / SUMECH, one of the largest companies in China, and majority owned by the Chinese Government, under their industrial and machinery sector. The solar panels have been coupled with 2 x SMA STP 15000TL Tri-Power three phase inverters, with active on line monitoring. A quality solar power system which will last the distance.
The solar installation was undertaken by GreenPower CEC accredited employees, over a 4 day period. All DC cabling has been enclosed in galvanized deck tray, to prevent UV deterioration of the cable. All DC breakers are from Austrian company Benedict & Jager, and protected by stainless steel housing. The panels were lifted onto the roof via industrial panel lifter, and the panels have been secured to the roof via triangulated 30 degree tilt frame.

The installed 30kWp solar power system is estimated to generate over 40,000kWh per year. This equates to a daily average of 114kWh solar electricity per day, which will be completely consumed by the facility. The solar electricity will reduce energy costs by approximately $10,000 per year, based on current electricity tariffs. This is a very strong investment, which will last for 25 plus years, increase the property value, increase the business profitability, and create a green image for the business, not to mention, localize power production, increase electricity stability, and help the environment.
